Happy Birthday, Ohno Satoshi!

It's a bit early here in America, but in Japan it's the 26th already, so happy birthday!

Real entry coming soon?

P.S. Arashi is pretty much my only Japanese fandom, but I feel guilty for not having time to follow it anymore (My Girl, what?).

RIP John Hughes. In honor of the master of the teen movie, what is your favorite teen flick?

To be honest, I don't watch a lot of movies. I did enjoy The Breakfast Club. I feel like there's something really classic and universal about looking beyond stereotypes.

Apparently it is totally possible. Where I live, it rarely snows ever, so it feels really strange to see it pouring down.

Well, classes are canceled tomorrow. I'm happy. :)

So my plan to post exactly at midnight failed as Firefox decided to crash at 11:59. Great...

Well, November 26th is Ohno's birthday. So yay! And it's Maru's birthday, too. So yay, again!

I guess I should make a real post sometime. But I would like to work on my LJ layout first since it's been a while. x_x

After coming out of my little corner playing Sims 2 for days, I finally found out about the new Ohno scandal. All I can say is, Ohno is still my ichiban. ♥

Anyway, Maou is interesting, although I watched the original and know what's going to happen next. But episode 4 was really good. It's going to be even more interesting from this point. I just hope the ending isn't ruined because I think Japanese drama writers ruin it 90% of the time, Last Friends being the best example sorry to say.

spoiler? )

I never really thought Maruyama Ruyhei from Kanjani 8 was hot. But I came across this photoshoot, and I guess I was wrong about Maru. Hope I didn't ruin your beauty(?) with too much selective coloring. lol

But this has to stop, Kanjani 8. We can't do this anymore. If I become deeply attached to another JE group, then it's all downhill from there for my poor bank account. T_T

Last note. Apparently Ohno resembles a Korean celebrity. Read more... )

Ah, the wonders of photoshop. I think it's the nose.

I seem to title everything "random" on lj. lol

Anyway, I was just browsing Korean websites like usual, and then I found out something interesting.

If you are familiar with the show SpongeBob SquarePants, you probably know who Patrick and Squidward. Well, apparently Patrick's Korean name is Ttung-i and Squidward is JingJing-i. (God, I hate romanizing Korean words) But the funny thing is, Ttung-i means "Fatty" and JingJing-i means "Whiner." So yeah, when SpongeBob is saying hi to his friends in his cheery voice, he's actually calling them bad names. Fun~ lol

Strange since other character's names are plain. Mr. Krabs is Captain Claws, and his daughter's name is "Jinjoo" meaning "Pearl" which is her English name. Plankton is called Plankton, and Sandy the Squirrel is named Squirrel in Korean. Hmm...

Yay, I've been awake since 5 PM....... ... .. -_-;;;

Can't bring myself to watch Code Blue. The rating dropped from 21% to 16%. Does that mean it sucks? I like Yamapi, so I should watch the drama. But then, I'm not that obsessed over him as I am to Ohno Satoshi or Ikuta Toma, sorry to say.

Haven't watched episode 2 of Maou yet. I had some activities today which I will post later in my real life post after I come back from rafting. Going to North Carolina baby~ lol

Anyway, here is the meme while I wait for my hair to dry. Taken from [info]martaeruroraito, really hard since I don't have a top 10. >_<

All links are from imeem.

Other artists I recommend that didn't make Top 10 in no particular order: Voxtrot, Big Bang, Regina Spektor, Daphne Loves Derby, Daft Punk, Air, Nas, Bon Iver

I was going to wait until Maou started to do another fangirly post, but I can't wait.

Ohno is on Friday! (<-slow -_-;;;)

I mean, I would be upset considering this rumor looks pretty legit. Maybe old news, but still legit. But oh my gosh, Ohno looks so darn adorable!

pics that probably almost everyone saw already )

So yay, Ohno is on Friday. Now I'll just have to wait till Maou starts.

Am I the only one who thinks Himitsu no Arashi to Maou to HanaDan Chan revealed a little too much about the drama? As someone who watched the original already, I feel like the show took away some suspense. But then again, I already know what happens in the drama. -_-;;;;;

I got a haircut. It's really short, but I like it.

Watching Skins, a UK drama. Didn't know British people allowed so many bad words on TV. Like, every other word is "Fuck."

Having trouble deciding major choices. I know my first choice is Advertising, and my second Magazine. But I don't know what to put for 3rd. I was going to put Public Relations, but an email I got said I can't do that anymore.

....from the stupid fruit fies plaguing this house!! -_-;; For some reason there are a lot of fruit flies. When I kill one, immediately another one appears. They're... like... endless......

Anyway, I failed at getting a job. I'm sad. It seems I just have no luck with getting jobs. Not one place called me back. I guess I really have to resort to working at McDonalds?

I got hooked on Sims 2 again because I discovered the joys of mods and custom designs. For some reason, I never felt the urge to get things online until now. And it's great. >_< I think American sites are better for makeup and general cosmetic things, but Korean sites are better for clothes and objects. Maybe I'm just biased.

Anyway, the second quarter of Japanese dramas are almost ending. I would have to say Last Friends and Rookies are the best dramas this season. My Sassy Girl got really boring and didn't live up to the original. Change was interesting, but it's all about Japanese politics which I'm not familiar with. So I just gave up watching the two dramas.

I also watched Nodame Cantabile. I highly recommend this drama. I love Ueno Juri now.

In other news, I will be getting a haircut soon.

... Since it's been a while.

My freshman year which was really my sophomore year ended about a week or so ago. My grades came in. They're decent. I didn't expect an A- in Studio Art. I was preparing myself for B+, but I'm happy and content because of that. My chemistry grade was not all that great though, so my GPA dropped .02 from what it was. So now it's 3.82. Hope that doesn't ruin my chance of entering Grady.

Anyway, I've been applying for jobs online and stuff. Not one place has called me yet, so I'm feeling rather sad. It would be awesome if I could do internships, but no, I don't have all the requirements. I guess I'll just end up working in McDonald's after all.

I've just been watching stuff online to kill time. Japanese dramas and Korean variety show programs, specifically. I'd say the best J-drama this season is Rookies. My Sassy Girl is ok. I haven't watched Last Friends or Change yet, but I'm planning to.

Exciting news for my fangirl self. My favorite guy (Ohno Satoshi) in my favorite Japanese boy band (Arashi) is going to star in a drama for the first time as the lead role along with Ikuta Toma (Nakatsu in Hana Kimi) as the other lead in a drama called Maou (The Devil, also known as Lucifer). The bad thing, this drama is a remake of a Korean one that I absolutely loved. So I'm worried. I have a feeling those Japanese writers will water down the original plot. So yeah.

I've been doing yoga. I discovered how stiff I am. But I lost 3 kg (about 6 lbs) so far since the break. But then again, my weight fluctuates a lot.

I need a Moleskine notebook. I need to become creative.

Home is, um, I don't really know. I feel frustrated. And I can actually feel myself becoming more sluggish, not to mention that my sleeping schedule is way off now.

I watched this movie Go today. It's a Japanese movie about love, but it's also about Zainichi Koreans, who are basically Korean immigrants or people of Korean descent. I thought it was pretty cool, but the Korean that was spoken in the movie was distracting to me because it wasn't really good. The Japanese actors pronounce Korean like Japanese, so it's sometimes barely comprehensible.

So now I'm obsessed with Kobuzuka Yosuke, who plays the lead in Go. Heh.

And I really like Bon Iver. And Bain Mattox and Shot From Guns. I think I'm leaning more towards "indie" music again.

And you know what? I should take more pictures. And I'm going to be really crafty this spring break since I'll end up staying at home all the time.

I kinda want to go to Savannah though.

People, congratulate (?) me. On November 12, 2007, I met Park Shin Yang, a famous Korean actor.

Summary of lecture )

I know you're jealous )

I have more pictures and a video recorded along with some sound files. But I will not post them here. I think that one picture is enough. And sadly, that is the best picture I have of him because all the pictures turned out to be blurry. :[
